Theater Night 2019

Sister Act – Wednesday June 5, 2019

Based on the 1992 hit film, Sister Act is a feel-good musical comedy smash that has audiences jumping to their feet! When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood. Featuring original music by Tony/Oscar winner, Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors), this uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who attended 13th Annual Theater Night, Wednesday June 5. With everyone’s support, we raised more $57,000. These funds will help us provide more than 13,000 nutritious meals and enrich the lives of hundreds of seniors and homebound neighbors in south metro Denver.

The festivities began with a pre-show reception, where more than 200 attendees were able to choose from a never-ending selection of delectable appetizers ranging from Crab cheese won tons and meatballs, to coconut shrimp and chili rellenos, to sinfully scrumptious desserts.

The pre-show video highlighted the extensive services we provide and the impact it has on seniors and homebound individuals in our community. A special thanks to Robin Visser of Creative Touch Video, Inc., for once again helping us tell our story. Sister Act lived up to its accolades and had everyone laughing and singing along.

Seventeen prizes (all valued at over $100), including Denver Bronco tickets, mountain weekend getaways, restaurant gift cards, gift baskets, and an airline tickets, were raffled during intermission.
